Free parking at school zones in Abu Dhabi

Parents will not be fined as long as they avoid illegal parking, authorities say

Abu Dhabi: Parents are allowed to park for free at the pick up/drop off zones in front of schools in Abu Dhabi, according to the Department of Transport.

The department said in a statement on Monday that it allows parents to park their cars for free from 6:30am to 9am and then from 12pm to 4pm at the pick up/drop off zones at schools that are located in areas controlled under ‘Mawaqif' in Abu Dhabi providing a sufficient time to pick up and drop off their children.

"Parents will not be fined as long as they avoid illegal parking such as blocking other vehicles, parking in disabled parking spaces or near the fire hydrants," the statement added.
